Khairul Azmir Shoib, popularly known as Meme, is a multi-faceted artist and illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur. His practice is defined by an illustrative fantasy world that bridges the whimsical and the macabre, often exploring internal dialogues on mental health and personal history.
He is a graduate of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), holding an MA in Fine Art and Technology (2004). Meme's work treads carefully through "alchemical metamorphosis," transforming discarded materials and dark, saturated colours into hauntingly beautiful visual poetry that records silent conversations between self and other.
