Origin & Identity

Sedar Space began as Silver Tree Studio—a private working studio for artist Arif Fauzan Othman, founded in 2014. When the pandemic arrived in 2020, the studio sat largely silent through years of Movement Control Orders, its purpose paused but not forgotten. Then, after completing a solo project in 2023, Arif made a decision: to transform his solitary studio into a shared ground. Not a gallery in the traditional sense, but a gathering point—where artists could meet, exchange ideas, and finally do something for the health and competency of the local art scene.
